Terms of Service

These terms cover the use of this website and the placement services provided by Shakirah's Domestic Agency and Care Giving.

Our role

We are a placement agency. We introduce clients to domestic workers, nannies, caregivers, shepherds and drivers. The working relationship, including duties, hours and remuneration, is agreed between the client and the placed person unless we state otherwise in writing.

Client responsibilities

Clients supply accurate information about the role, the household, the duties and the working conditions. Clients are responsible for meeting South African labour requirements that apply to household employment, including a written agreement, agreed working hours and lawful remuneration.

Candidate responsibilities

Candidates supply true information about their identity, work history, references and licences. Presenting false documents ends the relationship with this agency immediately.

Screening

We interview candidates, check documents and contact references before recommending anyone. Screening reduces risk but cannot guarantee future conduct. Clients are encouraged to interview candidates themselves before agreeing to a placement.

Fees

Placement fees, replacement terms and payment arrangements are quoted for each placement and confirmed in writing before the placement begins.

Replacements

If a placement does not work out, tell us as soon as possible. Replacement arrangements depend on the terms quoted for that placement and on when the problem is reported.

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.
